The Magazine

Dear readers,

The healing powers of the sun are revealed and cherished in this springtime issue of the magazine. Okay, I know. If you’re an early bird reader, then you’re likely to be throwing up your hands in the air right now and shouting “what sun?” – but, nevertheless, when the sun does finally arrive, we’re here to convince you that soaking up a few rays is physically good for you. At the very least, it’ll give you a psychological boost.

Adherents of yoga have been saying pretty much the same thing about their different practices for years. It was high time, therefore, we assessed the lay of the land, or rather the numerous ways of lying, sitting and stretching out across the land (though not
levitating above it). Our round-up will give you a clearer idea of the type of yoga that might suit you best. We wouldn’t want you to get tied up in knots…

Which, I imagine, is exactly what can happen when deciding where best to send your kids to school in the country: local or international school? English or multilingual? We guide you through the wide range of options.

And it’s not just the sun that comes in for some celebration this issue. We look at the growing ‘slow food’ movement and speak to one chef who is wholeheartedly embracing the value of sourcing seasonal ingredients locally. It’s a return to nature of sorts, the old way of doing things, and very much akin to the ethos of a new type of skills-learning weekend (from sewing to cheese making) that one enterprising couple is offering in Flanders.

If, finally, when all is said and done, all you really just want to do is buy a motorhome and sail off (into the sunset?), then what’s stopping you? We are even here to help you live this dream…but don’t forget to return for our even sunnier summer issue in a couple of months’ time!
